I was fearing that I was missing something. I will be happy with acousticID if that is the new standard and complete db. IT seems to work rather well, with great command line and web submission--which is great for simple language scripting.

What exactly is your problem? You seem to have AcoustID fingerprinting set up, so you shouldn't bother with PUID anymore. AmpliFind (the providers of the PUID system) are indeed as good as dead.

I quickly got the acoustical id. First, I got piccard to work with acousticid.org Then, I figured out how to use command-line and web api to get data. So, now I can get info on fly, as I record from any source.

Puid is worthless with piccard (only good for after thought tagging), so far. As far as info retrieval on recording fly, GenPuid has no examples. So all I am getting the puid, but cannot figure out how to get the song data. I have spent hours searching, but not found any pages that clearly, explain and example, any command line puid data retrieval or web api.

I am not even sure if puids are dead or not. It seems to take too long to id, musicipdns is dead. And amplifind appears only appears closed and dollar driven.

So, I am asking here as a last resort.
