Topic: Album with various artists and multiple artist on each track + ...

Hello,

I want to add a new release.

This album is with various artist and also, each track are sing by multiple artists

Also some tracks are medley (multiple songs)

For example :

1. Ville de lumière
Chant : Francis Cabrel, Elsa, Claire Keim, Lââm, Marc Lavoine, Mimie Mathy, Zazie, Julie Zénatti

...
...

4. Medley : "Mister Restos 2008"
  - Tu trouveras
Chant : Christophe Maé
  - Avec les filles je ne sais pas
Chant : Jean-Jacques Goldman, Julie Zénatti
  - Laisse-moi t'aimer
Chant : Patrick Bruel
  - Rappelle-toi Minette
Chant : Francis Cabrel, Mimie Mathy
  - La maison du bonheur
Chant : Michèle Laroque, Maxime Le Forestier, Mimie Mathy
  - J’m’attendais pas à toi
Chant : Patrick Bruel, Francis Cabrel, Jean-Jacques Goldman, Maxime Le Forestier, Christophe Maé, Pierre Palmade

What is the good style for editing my new release ?

Thanks

Re: Album with various artists and multiple artist on each track + ...

So I find how to add multi artist on a same track with a relationship.

But,

But I have this :
has additional vocal performed by Elsa
has vocal performed by Francis Cabrel

And I want something like this :
has vocal performed by Francis Cabrel and Elsa

So may be I do an error.

And, I don't understand why I need to fill the form 2 times (first time I have an error)

And I don't find how edit a medley track

Re: Album with various artists and multiple artist on each track + ...

Hmm, this is not my kind of edit (I usually enter classical music), so I don't really know the answer. I don't think the 'Additionnal" AR is correct, both artists are equals here. Someone else?

Re: Album with various artists and multiple artist on each track + ...

Hi,

Thanks,

I just find a solution for :
has additional vocal performed by Elsa
has vocal performed by Francis Cabrel

There is a check box :(

Re: Album with various artists and multiple artist on each track + ...

Where is this check box?  I am trying to do something similar.

In Windows Media Player it uses ";" but when I loaded up the MP3 in Picard I get ";", However in the saved version it uses "&"

Question is if I use & will it still group things correctly in Windows Media Player?

Re: Album with various artists and multiple artist on each track + ...

This discussion is about editing releases on the Musicbrainz website in order to add Advanced Relationships for vocals to tracks; it has nothing to do with Picard tagging.

What do you mean by "the saved version"? In any case, this doesn't really sound like a style question; it's probably a question for the taggers forum.

Re: Album with various artists and multiple artist on each track + ...

When I say "Saved" version I mean the data that Picard saves into the file which is what is used in MusicBrainz database uses "&"

Re: Album with various artists and multiple artist on each track + ...

Perhaps the release on MB has a role attributed (possibly incorrectly) to an "Artist A & Artist B" collaboration artist; because Picard does not, by default, separate multiple different credits of the same type &.

In any case this is not what this thread is about. Please start a new thread elsewhere and refer to the release on MB you're talking about.
