Re: Please help me to remove track numbers from my mp3s!!

Here is the string I use:
$if2(%albumartist%,%artist%)/%album%/$num(%tracknumber%,2)-%title%
which gives me: artist/album/tracknum-tracktitle

So I guess what you have asked for is something like
$if2(%albumartist%,%artist% )%title%

You did not ask for the album title, so you won't have it :-)

Well, the documentation is not really complete, finished or user-friendly (I am not complaining here, I know that I could improve it myself ;-) ) So I'll try to give a few more hints:

In the Options Menu, choose Options, in the Options dialog go to File Naming, check "Rename Files" (if it is not checked already) and enter the string I suggested in "File naming format" and "Multiple artist file renaming format". You can then use the "Preview" button to see the results.

BTW, this showed me that my suggestion was wrong,
$if2(%albumartist%,%artist%) %title%
would be better :-)

see http://musicbrainz.org/doc/PicardDocume … FileNaming for explanations on how file naming works
