Topic: Music sequencer (instrument)

I was just messing around with this release and track #2 has an unfamiliar musical instrument lineup. The Japanese Wikipedia page for the album has an exhaustive list of each musician credit for each track, and on track 2 it credits this artist as performing with "DSX', "OB-8" and "DMX", which I have confirmed to be machines made by Oberheim (the latter two being a synthesizer and a drum machine). The thing is, an Oberheim DSX is a music sequencer, and I couldn't find it on the instrument tree. Is there something else on there I can substitute?

Re: Music sequencer (instrument)

You'll have to pick whatever we have that is most accurate for now. More specifically:

DSX: You'll have to use "electronic instruments" for now, but please add it to http://wiki.musicbrainz.org/Instrument_ … _Sequencer as the 3rd example recording/release. Once we have 5 example releases, there is a fast-track process for adding it to the tree.

OB-8: We have "synthesizer" in the instrument tree under Electronic Instruments, so you can use this.

DMX: We have "drum machine" also under electronic instruments.

You can use the recording annotation to note the specific synth/seq brands if you like; but I don't think (as a general rule) that individual brand names for electronic instruments will be added.
