Topic: Poems as Works?

Hello...

I want to add a whole bunch of poems written by Heinz Erhardt, as there are many recordings where he recited them and I think it would improve this database if it would be obvious which poems where recited in which recording (as there are many recordings that contain numberous different poems and comedic routines).
But this is only my opinion, I would like to know what you others would think of this.

As the next logical step would be to add comedic routines and sketches as works what also would be useful, but also a giant step in a new direction and I will not dare to decide alone if data should be related here this way.

So... how do I have to treat poems and comedy routines?

I have added a few vinyls of poems lately myself and I haven't yet added works for them for this same reason. IMO it makes sense to have them, but I'm not sure what the general feeling is. Opinions?

I'd add them. If we already add releases with recordings of poems or books, why not add the works for them as well? As long as we're not going to enter a poet's entire bibliography (unless of course, it has been recorded and released), we're not going to have an insane amount of such works anyway.

So, nice that at least you two share my point of view.
Probably soon someone will add poems as a type of work... that would be the starter's gun. ;)

Sorry for the double post, here just a list of things where this would be useful:

- Herman van Veen has a few songs based on poems by Judith Herzberg and one based on a poem by Erich Kästner.
- Al Bowlly performed two songs by Arthur Young which have the two Shakespeare poems "It was a Lover and his Lass" and "Blow, Blow Thou Winter Wind" as lyrics.
- Post-Hardcore band Chiodos has a few songs on their first album that lyrically borrowed Shakespeare as well, as listed here.
