According to the style guidelines at http://musicbrainz.org/doc/Style/Titles … nformation ETI should be put in parentheses in the track title.

My opinion is that track lists should contain the title exactly as written on the release but the associated recordings should contain only the actual title, with ETI (e.g. xxx remix, xxx edit, live xxxx-xx-xx) placed is the disambiguation field.

Is there a consensus?

There is no consensus (actually, there never is at MB), but what you propose is often what makes the most sense.

Be careful with "exactly as written on the release" - taken literally this is actually against MB's guidelines. We still normalise and standardise track titles; correct types and normalise for consistency in some places.

"xxx remix" is something almost everyone keeps in the title of the recording and I'd definitely not move that to the comment. The "live" part is actually a guideline, and it *should* be moved. I don't have a firm opinion about edit.
