Topic: Changing Release group titles and deleting errorous releases

Hi all,

Just getting into adding some of my CDs and music to MusicBrainz. Going ok so far over the last couple of weeks but I couple of questions.

1) Changing Release Groups

I have done a typo or two on the release groups titles.

I cannot seem to find a way of changing these.

Can someone explain how to do this?

2) Deleting releases

I have seen a couple of obvious errors and I want to delete them from the release group.

Again I cannot find a way of doing this?

Many thanks

Re: Changing Release group titles and deleting errorous releases

I have worked out the release group titles I think but will take 2 weeks to appear.

Re: Changing Release group titles and deleting errorous releases

you should merge the release rather than delete.

Re: Changing Release group titles and deleting errorous releases

Aha I got it but I don't want to merge
I have a 2 cd set (http://musicbrainz.org/release-group/f4 … 23dcd8d5fa) in a release group and 1 release is correct with 2 CDs the other that is wrong is marked as CD but has all the tracks (2+ hours worth of music) so is wrong .

It looks like I will have to merge them both, have a multitude of merged tracks and then delete all the tracks off. *sigh*

Re: Changing Release group titles and deleting errorous releases

I had to merge the release I want to delete into the third cd of the 2CD set and then I will have to delete all the tracks by hand in 2 weeks time (presumeing it doesn't get rejected)

That is a truely horrible way of doing it but I could see no other way.

Would it be so difficult to have a delete button??!

Re: Changing Release group titles and deleting errorous releases

Huh, but there is a remove button for releases. "Remove release" on the sidebar.

Re: Changing Release group titles and deleting errorous releases

FFS I missed that. Sorry. Thanks.

Removed now...slowly getting the hang of this.
