Topic: Are DJ Mixes also a Compilation?

A officially released DJ mixed single CD with many tracks from many artists.

Should this be submitted as DJMix only or DJMix and compilation?

I presume just DJmix but the guidelines are inconclusive IMHO

That one's not really the definition for compilation as a type, but as a relationship (recording X is a compilation of Y and Z). What you want to check is http://musicbrainz.org/doc/Release%20Group/Type (admittedly, that might not make it very clear either, but at least it's related). I would say it depends a lot on how it's presented, I'd use just album + DJ mix if it's seen as an album by that DJ, and album + DJ mix + compilation if the tracks are seen as more important than the DJ. Dunno if I explain myself too clearly... :)
