Topic: compilation CDs with different release titles, but same tracklist

Example:
http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B00005FH8U
http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B0009N2V0A
http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B000NO2AGK

already exists as
http://musicbrainz.org/release/253ce995 … 4441d.html

The question is:
Should I add the (best of xxxx) releases with different titles as separate releases or
make an annotation in the original release and add them just as release events?
(tracklist and tracktimes are same for all releases)

Any thoughts/advice highly appreciated!

Re: compilation CDs with different release titles, but same tracklist

That's an interesting situation (many titles for a same tracklist).

But, in my opinion, in this particular case, there is no problem.
The number is just a price indication.

We have here re-releases at cheaper price of the very same compilation (as you said).

2000-05-01 B00005FH8U full price first release (or so it seems)
2005-06-25 B0009N2V0A nice price edition 1,200円
2007-06-06 B000NO2AGK cool price edition 1,000円

The title of the existing MB release, I think, is best chosen. It takes the title which is written on the cover.

You can add the 3 ASIN (Amazon ID) as URL relation for the release if you want to do something.
You can also add a japanese version release with the titles written on the Amazon tracklists if you want, though it may not really be necessary.

But changing the title is not needed here.
Sorry I forgot the question : You should add the 3 release events yes that's the correct thing to do! (^_^)
