Topic: Why include (disc x) in multidisc releases?

Hi, I was just wondering why you must include (disc X) in the album title when ID3 tags support the numbering of discs?  I can't seem to find the reason in the style guidelines.

Historical reasons, which are not easy to change once you have a database full of CDs, not multi-disc releases. But if you want it only for tagging, there is a Picard plugin to move disc numbers from title to the right ID3 frame.

i.e. ID3 may support it, but the MB database structure does not :)

But I am sure this is subject to evolve towards the right direction (disc number field) someday :)
