Topic: Same MusicID on two release. What can i do?

Hi.

I have two release http://musicbrainz.org/release/40e891fb … 1b16e7a693 and http://musicbrainz.org/release/08d9de66 … c9a898495c .
Releases has tracks 'Ever Green' and 'Ever Green piano version'. But, This two track same sound and same play time. Also result of calculate puid of these tracks is same.

So.. When scanning track on picard, track always redirected to one release. I always move file to another release and save tag.
What can i do for this case?

Appended:

I solved this problem. I setted using acoustID on picard and scanned files. Result of calculate two files is different. (result of calculate MusicDNS is still same when trying to calculate)
By the way. If even acoustID is same, What can i do for that?

If they sound the same, it’s normal that they share the same fingerprint, imo. :)

I know that. So i want to say "If same song existed on another album, How can i identify two files for two albums?"

Musicbrainz says 'earliest release of' relationship' is deprecated and suggest to merge two recordings. But i can't expect result of merging.
If two tracks ware merged, How does it go?

Re: Same MusicID on two release. What can i do?

If you merge it, it will be like this http://musicbrainz.org/recording/1d8e70 … 94c7f90016
You see this recording (song) appears on three records. Like it was 3 tracks mrged togetehr.
Be careful to only merge identical tracks. (it seems to be the case with your example that you ear checked). :)

It's really can't be done "only" with a simple "ear check", at least it shouldn't be done, you have to have some proof saying that the same recording of the same song is later used without any change. In other words, the artst(s) didn't performed it again, or the performance wasn't (re)mixed again.
that's why some releases (esp. compilations) include recording studio and date in their liner notes.
