Topic: enhancing "add disambig comment" prompt (adding artist or label)

Currently, when we add a new artist or label with the same name as another artist or label already in MusicBrainz, we get a prompt asking us if we are REALLY SURE we're not adding a duplicate entity.  I'm wondering whether that prompt should be triggered not only by names, but also by aliases.  Here's why:

Yesterday, I did an edit to merge the label Self-release into the Special Purpose Label [no label].  I notice that SPL [no label] has "Self released," "self-release" and "Self-released" among its aliases, so if the "add disambig comment" prompt had been triggered by those aliases, then maybe the edit that created the "Self-release" label could have been prevented.

Anybody know why the prompt can't or shouldn't work this way?
