Topic: 10 disc release with recording dates in track titles

Hi,

what should we do with this release? I would remove all the dates from the track list and the recordings and relate them with corresponding works, where I would add the date as performance/recording date. Correct? Not correct?

You can add the dates to the advanced relationship between a recording and a work. There is currently no support for adding a date to a recording itself, but there is a ticket for that: http://tickets.musicbrainz.org/browse/MBS-798

Thanks, nice to hear this date-and-venue-thing will really come.
The main reason I started this here was: Is it okay to remove the recording date from the tracklist and recording name, or should it stay? I think, I should remove it as it is not part of the title of the song - it's like the "(disc)"-addition on single titles, where the consensus was to remove it and shift it into the annotation/disambiguation field. Here I think we even don't need it in the disambiguation-field, if the date in the recording-work-relationship will automatically transfered into the recording date when it will be implemented. This would be nice, would make my work on Nirvana, The Police and Radiohead not in vain. ;-)

I'd remove the date from the track titles too.

I'd remove it from recording titles for sure. Tracks? Maybe not, if they're displayed like that. Not sure.

I began to remove the the recording dates and added them to the work-recording-relationship. I left the removal edits open for voting; if you want, you can vote for or against them now.
