Topic: using other database

I am happy to join the forums and this is my first question.

For some reason, I am not interested  in the existing general database, and I would like instead to generate my own music database data. Please do not ask me why !

What is the best setup in this case: installing through virtual machine and using development server or what should I do in this case .

Your help is appreciated.

Let me explore more:

- I want a production database serving my own database
- I do not want to do replication or include the existing database

so you want only the schema but not the values inside it?

Thank you for your response. Exactly, I just want to get advantage of the software itself for my own data and let other interested parties in my data to use it for free. Also I do not want to serve any data other than my own. Is this legally ok.

ramady: you probably should mail to info@musicbrainz.org for that kind of questions, since the people who know more about the legalities of MB use, including the founder, don't really read the forums.
