Topic: musicbrainz.org and IE

musicbrainz.org wrote:

"It looks like you're using Internet Explorer.
To get the most out of this website we highly recommend the use of Google Chrome Frame. "

is this really true? I am really happy with IE right now. don't want to use another browser. will there be too many problems in IE while viewing musicbrainz.org?

Re: musicbrainz.org and IE

The Chrome Frame is not Google Chrome, it is an add-on for IE: see https://developers.google.com/chrome/chrome-frame/

Re: musicbrainz.org and IE

It works fine in IE9, from what I tried - just looks a bit ugly in places.

Re: musicbrainz.org and IE

yea and ugliness starts from that message displaying in all pages

Re: musicbrainz.org and IE

Which IE version are you using?

ie9 x64 english and turkish

Re: musicbrainz.org and IE

I think the point is that the site is not tested by developers on IE, so no guarantees. I can understand this with respect to IE 6-8, but IE9 is indeed the first half-decent browser MS has produced for a while, so I wonder whether the policy (and message) could be relaxed here. Do you know if there's anything known to definitely not work in IE9, reosarevok?

or maybe the message can be disabled with some sort of button like "Acknowledged". So at least it will be displayed per session.

Re: musicbrainz.org and IE

No idea, I haven't tried IE9 for MB. That being said, a "sure, don't tell me again in a while" button makes sense...
