Topic: More/different packaging types

I'm fixing up some releases now that are available in multiple formats and I just remembered that the packaging type list is lacking. Some examples of packages we need:

Snap-case
Fatbox
Jewel case w/slipcase

I'd like to submit a ticket akin to MBS-3993, but I'm not sure if I should or how to go about it.

Re: More/different packaging types

For the first one, the 8cm CD japanese single, just use digipak, imo it’s a kind of digipak like (before digipak existed): plastic stand sticked inside folded cardboard.
And isn’t Fatbox a (bigger) jewel box?
Where does those two names (snap/fat) come from? I did not see these terms myself on such releases yet.
Or is it just standard english maybe…

Re: More/different packaging types

Go to http://tickets.musicbrainz.org/ and create an account. Select 'create issue' in the top right corner, select Musicbrainz Server, and select 'improvement'. Write a brief description of the idea. Then go to the mailing list at musicbrainz.1054305.n4.nabble.com (you'll need an account for that too) and post a message in the style list, explaining the issue and pointing to the ticket. Discussion on the mailing list should generate interest in your idea and hopefully result in votes for the ticket. Obviously, the more votes, the more attention and resources will be directed towards the ticket.

For more info, read http://wiki.musicbrainz.org/Proposals

Note that on both the mailing list and tickets.musicbrainz your email address will be visible to other recipients/users. You can get a free temporary email address at jetable.org.

Re: More/different packaging types

1. create tickets account
2. create ML account*
3. create optional nabble account
4. create wiki account

Here is a good way to stop people from requesting improvements! :D
