Topic: Using 3rd party Python Modules?
Hi. Following a discussion i started there : http://forums.musicbrainz.org/viewtopic.php?id=3711 , i found what looks like a nice tool to do transliteration of non latin characters to ASCII chars, something that can be very useful when writing sorting tags. However, this is distributed as a multi-file 3rd party python module (http://pypi.python.org/pypi/Unidecode). I can install it into my python build, but i need it to be available for Picard.
How can i do this for the various OSes? I read that under Linux it's easy as any module installed is available. What about windows? Is it possible to copy a module inside the library.zip file? Would it work to put all the .pyo files next to the plugin file? What about MacOS (i can't test this one).
I would like to find the least hacky, and most cross-platform way of using a 3rd party module. This way, if i ever write a useful plugin, i could distribute it.
