Topic: 502 errors + massive release = wat do?

I'm really in a pickle right now. I'm trying to add the official release to this release group, but every time I try to add it I get a 502 error message before it gets to the edit note page. This has been going on for months. Any suggestions on how I can get around this?

On a side note: If you look in the editing history, you'll see a bunch of edits that were supposedly applied last week but are not currently showing up. I made those edits during the time yellow highlighting for pending edits was disabled, so could it be possible something went wrong? The edits all say they have been successfully applied, i.e. no last-minute vote-downs or failed dependencies or anything, but they appear to not have gone through at all.

Re: 502 errors + massive release = wat do?

The pending edits thing shouldn't affect it... But who knows what kind of problem *did*. Please paste some of those edits so we can check them. For the 502 - have you tried adding the release in parts? (first add a few discs to it, and then the rest)

Re: 502 errors + massive release = wat do?

I just checked a little further. Apparently I read the edit wrong; it was for a release group I had merged into another (with a title that needs to be updated).

I was going to try to add the release bit by bit, but I was hesitant because it's not exactly kosher around here anymore. Plus I've added even bigger releases before with no issues.

Well, I didn't mean adding it as several releases and merging, but adding two or three discs first and then editing it and adding the rest. Although really, as long as you added several and then did merge, and pointed to the merge edit in the add release edits, it should be OK.

I did just that. It was asinine, but it worked just fine.
