Topic: 'Identical' releases or no?

Just wondering about opinions on this edit:

http://musicbrainz.org/edit/18819333

The files are the same, but released on different dates and through different (both digital) channels, and with an additional file in the download the second time (a ringtone file). That's the only difference.
I don't have a problem with them being merged, but feel like MB would be losing data, rather than gaining any, which irks me. Some people may find it tidier, but I feel like it has had a separate digital 're-release' of some sort?

Any thoughts?

Re: 'Identical' releases or no?

If there are tracklist difference (and distinct release dates), there should be no merge, IMO.

Re: 'Identical' releases or no?

I didn't think the ringtone file would be included in the track list, similar to how data tracks aren't?
Without that, the files/ releases are identical, except for date.

Would we still keep them separate?

Re: 'Identical' releases or no?

Isn't a ring tone a sound too ?
I guess it's a sound file, as the other sound files of the release.
Be it another file extension shouldn't make it less valid.
